Short Term Volunteer
Through the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s short-term team program, volunteers have the opportunity to tell people around the world about God’s love for all people through Jesus Christ while connecting them to Word and Sacrament ministry. This is a great way to see what mission work is like in the LCMS.

Career Missionary
A career missionary is a long-term, committed individual who serves for at least five years to spread the Gospel, plant Lutheran churches and show mercy in other countries. They are trained, sent, and supported in order to engage in a variety of roles to help establish and support local Lutheran communities.

GEO Missionary
Globally Engaged in Outreach (GEO) missionaries are those individuals who serve in other countries for a term of at least 12 to 30 months. They are sent by the LCMS to share the gospel and serve others in various roles, such as teaching, healthcare, or agriculture, while working alongside local communities.
